Not to be missed: Fifth Annual Tucson Festival of Books

The fifth annual Tucson Festival of Books will be held the weekend of March 9-10, 2013. This two-day Festival, covering nine acres on the campus of the University of Arizona, features more than 400 internationally acclaimed authors, book discussions, workshops for aspiring authors, literary activities for the entire family, and great local food.   FREE ADMISSION!!

Actor, author (yes, author) Ted Danson will be attending the event promoting his book  "Oceana: Our Endangered Oceans and What We Can Do to Save Them."  Did you know he grew up in Northern Arizona?

"Judith" J. A. Jance will be there.  If you have never been to one of her readings, it is a must!  If this is the first time attending this event, she is worth the trip.

T. Jefferson Parker from Southern California is always a treat.   Thanks mom for getting me his book "California Girl" for my birthday.

Local author Luis Alberto Urrea is wonderful to hear read.  All of the above-mentioned authors have a great sense of humor and I always go to see them every year.

You should go to their website and check out the list of authors attending.  You will be amazed.  The have two lists, by author and by genre.

I know many avoid thinking there is no parking.  Well, there is!  I promise you.  All FREE!  Also, right nearby the event, all of the university parking is free.  There are no parking problems.  Come on down!!!

There are lines for the food at times, but you can always just walk down past the gates and there is no waiting in lines at the restaurants on University.  Plus, in the past they have handed out free apples, water and FREE BOOKS!

Bring a hat, wear comfortable shoes, sunscreen and plan on spending the whole weekend.  It is just that GREAT!  See you there!
